HOW CHEER FOR CHILDREN BEGAN
In 1992, Dr. Winslow Schock, of Rock Hill Chiropractic Works, saw an opportunity to help 50 children, at the Boyd Hill Recreation Center in Rock Hill, SC, have a Christmas with a toy, a stocking and a warm article of clothing. Cheer for Children was born out of that experience. To this date in excess of 5,000 children have been helped in the 15 year period. Last Christmas alone Cheer For Children helped over 1,000 children with the help of loving volunteers, student athletes, and faithful supporters.
Our supporters include the Optimist Club of Rock Hill, area churches, Local Businesses and Schools, including Clinton Junior College. We have involved excluded children in such activities as flag football, basketball leagues, giving them school supplies and two fun days at Ivory Latta Day Events, as well as our annual Cheer For Children Christmas parties.
Our prayer is to continue our service to God and our community with the generosity of time, energy and funding from our donors, area churches and faithful volunteers.
