Cheer For Children was started in 1991. One hundred percent of the money raised for Cheer for Children supports the children. The programs are supported by many volunteer hours and your donations. In 2007, Cheer For Children provided a Christmas celebration at Northwestern High School. The children were given backpacks, a binder, school supplies, warm sweatshirts, hats and toys. Local businesses provided gift certificates and the Gideons presented New Testaments to all the children. In total 1,000 children received gifts. This was made possible by our faithful supporters who gave of their time and resources. Cheer for Children fully relies on the support and the generosity of our community and businesses. Your tax-deductible gifts provide hope, joy and love to children that may come from unfortunate circumstances or low income, or single parent homes. Your gifts also are an outward expression of your love and concern for the children of York County. You also provide an example for our youth to follow.
